2018 Sun Chase Pinot Noir
2018 Sun Chase Vineyard Pinot Noir 6 bottles available - Library Release
Sun Chase is the highest vineyard in the Petaluma Gap AVA, reaching 1,400 feet elevation where brisk Pacific winds extend the growing season and build real structure into the fruit. Alex Guarachi acquired this site because of what it was capable of producing, and the 2018 vintage - a year Wine Spectator called ideal for Sonoma County - is a strong example of why. This is an estate wine from the early chapter of what has since become one of California's most recognized Pinot Noir programs.
Tasting Notes: Cranberry, ripe raspberry, and red licorice on the nose with dried rose petals and a hint of cedar. Medium-bodied on the palate with spiced red fruit, a silky texture, and a long, juicy finish with good acidity throughout.
Pairs well with: Roasted salmon, duck confit, mushroom risotto.
